The Ardissons

Came to Sardinia (Sardegna) from Liguria, during the first 1800’s decades, driven, as many other families, by Napoleonic domination.

Agostino, the family’s founder, was originally from Diano Marina, his wife from Diano Monte.

Don (sir) Carlo Quesada, 1st marquis of San Sebastian, asked for help by Agostino to build the first modern Sardinian oil mill in his palace.

In 1836 he started his industrial activity, in a factory named: Premiato Stabilimento San Paolo, where were present flour mills, oil mills that recovered pomace and flax, making soap type Marseille.

When he died in 1844, was replaced at first by his son Domenico, then by his nephew Francesco.

The factory knows as Mulino (Mill) is situated in Saint Paul street, in the city of Sassari.
